Our mission is to promote the sustainability of energy investments and the broadening of the GCC’s relationships with global investors, technical services and technology companies throughout the energy value chain.
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)
As a region, the GCC faces the challenges of achieving economic diversification, energy transition, while sustaining its position in the global hydrocarbon market, against growing oil market volatility. Commercial activity and investment are at an all-time high. So is market saturation, maturing assets and unpredictable state budgets. Because of these factors, the key government and private sector players in the GCC energy sector are increasingly seekng the requiring strong specializations and efficiencies throughout the energy value chain.
Today, Manaar has acquired extensive knowledge, analysis, direct experience and presence.
Manaar in the GCC
Our strategy in the GCC is focused on:
- Commercial analytics to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and investments in the areas of upstream infrastructure & technical services.
- Technology investments and solutions development, focused on data science, oilfield digitization, G&G and drilling technologies.
- Renewable energy, with a focus on supporting solar and green hydrogen technologies and venture development.
Our mission is to promote the sustainability of energy investments and the broadening of the GCC’s relationships with global investors, technical services and technology companies throughout the energy value chain.
Our rapid growth has positioned us to expand in the UAE by deepening our specialization in energy-based data science and technology investment ventures.
United Arab Emirates (UAE) overview
The drivers of the UAE market are increasingly complex. Competition continues to grow despite an increasingly sophisticated regulatory environment, where local content and in country value are the main priorities.
The UAE has become a hub for all types of products and services. This includes a growing number of consultants and service companies with highly variable levels skills and capabilities.
In the energy sector, the goals of investing to optimize hydrocarbon production, diversifying beyond a hydrocarbon economy and developing a viable renewables sector all demand unprecedented levels of skills, investments and technology.
Manaar in the UAE
Manaar’s work in the UAE began in 2010, providing data management outsourcing to support oilfield technology services. This involved opening offices in Abu Dhabi and a data center in Dubai providing data management technology and training services in the areas of sub surface imaging and seismic to support drilling and exploration.
We quickly gained a reputation as a reliable outsourcing provider in the upstream space. Our rapid growth has positioned to expand our activities in the UAE, creating a deeper specialization in energy related data science. We are also actively pursuing investment opportunities in technology ventures.
We specialize in deep analytics on Saudi O&G production, technical services and other CAPEX drivers. We also support investment ventures in the areas of oilfield technology, solar and hydrogen operations.
Saudi Arabia Market Overview
Saudi is considered a leader within the GCC energy in several ways. It has the largest energy production and consumption. It is the largest hydrocarbon producer in OPEC and is taking some of the boldest strides towards renewables. Saudi Arabia faces the highest rewards of success and highest risks of setbacks. The demand for leading global consulting, technology and technical services capabilities are unsurprisingly set to continue increasing, perhaps more than in any other GCC market.
Manaar’s reflect the breadth of opportunities and challenges facing the Saudi energy sector.
Manaar in Saudi Arabia
In the conventional space, we specialize in deep analytics on Saudi O&G production, technical services and other CAPEX drivers. Our focus is on analytics of EPC ventures, seismic and drilling operations, aimed at identifying opportunities for investment optimization and operational efficiency gains. We are developing equivalent competencies in the area of renewables.
Throughout Saudi Arabia’s energy value chain, we are deepening our focus on supporting investment ventures. This covers oilfield technologies related to oilfield digitization, G&G and drilling. In the renewable space, we see opportunities for lifecycle project investments, particularly in solar and hydrogen.
Our activities in Iraq are likely to remain in the conventional space for the foreseeable future, focusing on selective ventures, while investing in longer term capabilities to support the maturity of the energy sector
Iraq Market Overview
Since 2003, Iraq has been contending with a myriad of significant political and economic challenges. Given this backdrop, it is somewhat remarkable that it is now OPEC’s second largest producer. Much of this has been possible thanks to external investments and technical support from international energy companies.
Iraq has been going through a major transition since 2003, making it a highly unique market in terms of the largest commercial risk and opportunities in the Middle East.
While the potentials in Iraq are immense, the commercial and political environment tend towards shorter term projects and ventures to offset a persistently high risk of business and investment in Iraq.
Manaar in Iraq
Despite the risks, Iraq remains one of the promising energy market and Manaar’s activities are focused on:
- Commercial and fiscal advice for international energy companies involved in the technical service contract licenses
- Delivering technology solutions to support seismic and drilling activities
- Quality control supervision outsourcing for oilfield operations
Our activity in Iraq is likely to remain in the conventional space for the forseeable future, as we focus on areas on selective ventures, while investing in longer term capabilities to support the maturity of Iraq’s energy sector .
